I'm actually starting to really want a Mac right now. I just need money.

Of course we know both are great. But I do like my Mac more than I do any Windows computers. I never thought I would say I like Macs. I used to hate them. But they grew on me after working in a place that had Macs. I knew I wasn't going to like them. I didn't like them in the past. But they have come a long way.

I just remember being told by every graphic artists and graphic artist instructors that Mac is the preferred OS for their line of work. Mainly due to it being able to run smoother and having a significantly lower rate of catching virus. I can also see a macbook being a good laptop for a student, if it wasn't so expensive compared to most generic windows laptop. If you really like using a mac but want to use programs that is only compatible with windows, you can use an emulator. I just think the major downside for most people's home use is the cost. Mac do cost more on average. If you are looking for graphics or music they own that market in technology. However, Windows own the business market.
Yes you can use bootcamp (free) or some other parallel application and run Windows on the Mac. When you partition a portion of your hard drive for Windows it can get a virus just as easily as any other Windows PC. But it will not affect the Mac Partitions of the Hard Drive. You can easily wipe that partition and reinstall without losing all of your content.
The advantage of using a parallel over bootcamp is that you don't have to boot into Windows OS. You can switch back and forth between Windows Os and Mac OS at the touch of a button.

Update time! I am now a user of both. I have a Lenovo Yoga Laptop running Windows 8 on a touch screen and a Mac Mini connected to the TV running OS X (obviously). I'd like to also buy a cheap laptop or netbook/Chromebook to run Linux on just to get a feel for it now.
I have to say, now that I'm used to both Windows and OS X I really have no preference. I don't even think about it while I use them. It could be either one and I'm perfectly fine with it.
