I have to say I don't remember you on Y!A Shienaran, but welcome! Ah! My mistake, wrong choice of word: Most Some of you might know me from Y/A then Though I've been a Y/A member since 2007, I usually only answer questions about Aikido techniques and training methods as well as basic MA training tips, mostly stuff I have knowledge and experience in, though sometimes I also answer questions about other arts if I happen to have first hand knowledge about it or personally know someone who has experience in it. That's aside from times when I'm bored and can't resist answering a stupid question or two just to get rid of boredom ;D

Hey, I'm Tiecuando (lol). I have experience with karate and jiu-jitsu. I don't do those anymore, I focus on fitness more now. Looking for something to keep me interested.

Hello fellow practitioners! I'm Frank the tank, same name on Yahoo answers, name was given by some friends for my appearance, short and stocky. I started with Ryobu-kai karate as a teenager where I'm from (Venezuela), I moved to the U.S. and by looking for a replacement I've been lucky to have trained under very skilled people in muay thai, shotokan karate, BJJ and MMA, I'm often a good punching bag for my gym buddies, since I do my best to make them work. I'm not a fighter, I just like to train to keep in shape, and punching in a controlled environment is alot cheaper than paying a shrink I've been given the opportunity by our administrator Keyboard warrior (props for this nice-looking site) to serve as a moderator, and I'm glad to see familiar people here.

My name is Yao Shu Ya Ive been training in boxing for 2 years now , and I have been training in Kenpo Karate since the age of 12 , when I was younger I was very well known for fighting all the time so my dad inrolled me to a martial art school so I would learn to use my strengths for good instead of bullying and beating up random kids , after that I stoped all the bullying at my junior high . I received my black belt when I turned 18 , I also have done MMA and BJJ in the past , I have also done TKD . Some of you know me from yahoo answers , some of you don't honestly i dont really care. I just hope this forum goes well and is better than YA

Hey my name is ZenBagua333. I'm 18 years old. I've trained in Muay Thai and Boxing for a very short amount of time (about 3 month combined with my cousin) and I did Wing Chun for almost a year. Then I discovered Baguazhang and I haven't stopped yet. I've been training in it for 5 years now and I don't want to stop! It is a VERY interesting art and I hope any martial artist could experience Baguazhang like I have! I also like to research a lot of Jeet Kune Do because i'm a huge Bruce Lee fan. I'm one of those people who will go to the mirror and imitate his stances and sounds right after watching a movie of his LOL. I'm also getting into some Ninjutsu but I don't have a school around me so you know but i'll go on Youtube and look up some techniques or whatever in my free time. But yeah, i'm a traditional martial artist with lots of knowledge about martial arts and experience with the modern arts too!

I'm Anarchist but you may remember me from Yahoo Answers as Anarchy rising. My past martial arts training was in Judo (when at university) and Shotokan Karate (Brown belt). When my Shotokan dojo left the SKIF to be an independent organization I left. They dropped a lot of the training in katas and became a kids orientated school focusing on point sparring and competition. I was very discouraged and lost. However I meet my current teacher and have started Hapkido. I love it, we do realistic self defense and weapon classes once a month and the school cross trains grappling as the teacher also has black belts in Judo and BJJ. I also love MMA, K-1 and Shoot wrestling. I also work in I.T systems administration.

Hello, My Y!A name is Major Major, but most of you probably don't know who I am due to my limited interest in answering most questions on the site. I'm 22 and nearing the completion of my Bachelors in pre-med biochemistry. I've been training in western boxing for the last decade or so (father was a Navy boxer), Chinese boxing for the last 3 years (Wing Chun), and BJJ for the last 10 months or so. Other than that I've dabbled in Tai Chi Chuan, BaguaZhang, Muay Thai, and catch wrestling.
I'm fascinated by all martial arts, but I dislike the politics and ideologues that seem to permeate the MA. Feel free to ask me anything.

Good to have you guys on board. @major: Thats perfectly fine. You can participate in the political aspect of martial arts in this section, or you don't have to. This forum is made for people who wanna talk or for people who wanna argue.

Hi. This is Leol5477. I'm still me. I am a second black in TKD. I am 59 yrs. old and started training in September, 1996. I had never wanted to do martial arts. My kids wanted to go, and it was easier to attend class with them, than to drop them off and pick them up. Besides, my doctor had warned me that a life of distance running was eroding the meniscus in my knees. Obviously, I stuck with it. The kids got bored and dropped out.

Hi, I'm YOUXIA. I've never had a Yahoo account but do often look at the Q and A on the martial arts section so thought I'd join up.
I've only had over a years training in Wing Chun under Sifu Colin Ward. And I'm not talking the silly patty cake crap you see on youtube- So I hope I can contribute by giving by giving you a view of what Wing Chun is really like.
I'm no where near as experienced as most of you so I look forward to learning from your experience.

Well I guess everyone would remember me as a pain in the arse but I'm Odee. First experience with Martial Arts was a term of High School Taekwando. Worst Teacher EVER!!! Put me off Martial Arts for five and a half years which is when a friend pointed out that he did Karate, putting together the white pygamas and fancy name I figured it was more sooks like the High School mob. I was challenged to last a night, failed at the night but stayed on for ten years. Moved north to a new state and took up Brazilian Jujitsu and Muay Thai for lack of a Kyokushin school. Good striker, poor grappler, sucker for challenges.

Again from YA my names toby on there. I'm 19 and train in chow gar tong long in sydney australia. Had my first taste of ma with a karate class when I was 14. At the time I had the flexibility of.. sumthing very non-flexible, so that combined with the highly aggressive karate teacher turned me away from it after one lesson. I then tried a lesson at where I currently study and found it way too aggressive so forgot martial arts all together. 3 years later at age 17 I returned and really got into it tho. I'm now just starting to get the hang of it as it is diffucult to pick up and keen to train as much as possible with anyone I can. Especially people from mma as that is what seems to be most popular and so best to learn to defend against. In the end I want to keep on training for as long as possible I want it to become a permenant aspect of my life as I find it so intruiging as a style. Hope to learn from everyone else on this forum even tho I can be narky at times I'm here to pick up on what I don't know or understand yet:) cheers

Hello all,
I go by Judomofo on Yahoo Answers, Bullshido, Sherdog, and every other Martial Art site that I have been on or lurked about. I come from a pretty varied background Martial Arts wise. I have been doing some form of Martial Arts for about 23 years, I started when I was 9 though studying Bujinkan Ninjitsu from what I realize now was a total Bullshido artist. My real introduction came into Martial Arts from Goju Karate, and then Judo.
I am a Nidan in Judo, have been doing it for about 20 years. I am a purple belt in Alliance BJJ, been doing some form of submission grappling for 19 years or so. I wrestled in High School and College. I boxed in the Army, and actively train in Western Boxing now. I am a G-4 Kravist, studied Krav Maga at the Wingate Institute in Netanya, Israel under Eyal Yanilov I am a Shodan in Goju Ryu Karate Formally I have studied Tomiki Aikido, Uechi Ryu Karate, Jujutsu, Wing Chun, Kyokushin, Jeet Kune Do Concepts, Kali, Sambo, and anything I can get into.
I've been involved in MMA for about 10 years, so the normal MMA training (Muay Thai, Boxing, BJJ, Wrestling, Kickboxing, etc) I have been doing. I have a 4-1 Pro record but am retired, mostly due to having a real job, family, and a life lol.
I am a firm believer in Aliveness as a training methodology. I am also a firm believer in conceal and carry, and proper stress testing especially in shooting. So I enjoy tactical shooting courses, practical stress shooting, and the like.
I like guns, knives, taclights, and kobutans. I believe the only way to train is to come as close as you can to the real deal repeatedly as safely as possible.
I was in the U.S. Army, worked security, and now am a sneaky computer guy.
I love Martial Arts, Hoplology, History.
I am married with an amazing wife, 2 great kids, so my time in Martial Arts is about 2 1/2 hours or so 3 times a week, where I train in Judo, Boxing, and MMA.
I think every art has something to give, and can be a tool in your toolbox provided it is trained properly. I think training methodologies and instructors matter more than style names or histories. Most any old timers on Y!Answers know me.
Also I type fast so I tend to write books on forums without thinking about it.
Cheers!
