I'd have to see it to give a definite answer but it probably looked to the officials like you just started headbutting him. Sometimes people make bad judgement calls. Cops do it all the time. That's why martial artists often get arrested after they've defended themselves. Sympathy is a bitch.

mmm Idk what happened here it looks like my shit got delete (perhaps in a drunk stupor?? lol) but here's what I did to counter a guard pull but I lost balance kinda and did a facebash... now things are cleared up and I'm just on warning because guard slamming is illegal to begin with & their being leaniant because I'm a wrestler trying to adapt to bjj I told them and slams are a big part of freestyle.
I had no clue powerbombs were illegal in bjj...

yeah that's exactly what it is because I do real wrestling not sissy hugging & holding lol
My dad, who taught me originally, actually learned a few things from tom billington about catch back in the 80s so I tend to use a few powermoves that look like from pro wrestling but are legit & that's why I'm so big on modifying pro moves for real fights because many were legit but made loose so they don't hurt to bad & still look good to the uninitiated.
And I swear by the ddt from guillotine choke & powerbomb from guard!
The easy counter to the powerbomb is just let go of guard and stand with the other person BUT a good wrestler will feel you standing with him and continue over their shoulder and slam you that way instead.

If somebody tries to reverse choke you, you'd be putting their back on the concrete a few times. I'd hate to be on the recieving end of something like that.

Here's a better example of the height your supposed to get into it
For the reverse choke that's where you fall back with them instead of planting them down in my opinion.
You can fall sideways too.
However a ddt during the reverse choke would be harder to defend against now I think of it.
You can aim their head for the ground too if you want but it's generally safer in sparring to hit the flat of the back so it absorbs the shock better.
In self defence I'll go for the head though lol

Depends what's on the ground. People can still hang on when they're unconcious, busted backs not so much.

True and I guess you could give a couple of each to make sure.
But a cracked open head with your brains oozing out & being knocked out are 2 different things too.

No, just people who refuse to let go when they're dead.

I had no clue powerbombs were illegal in bjj... My coach didn't tell me choking with the belt was illegal in my first comp, almost lost the match because of it.

I had a similar thing in judo happen when I tried to throw my opponent by their belt and got carded which sucked. I want to try freestyle judo which is basically judo & bjj meant to be like old school judo with lot`s of ne-waza (ground fighting) before it`s olympification.
