I'm sure most of you have heard of the current situation in Syria. What are your guys' opinions on the matter? Should military action be taken? Why or why not?
I personally think the US should not take military action. The US is not currently endanger or has been threatened so why should they go in to defend a country that doesn't like them in the first place?

Most people are against it. I am for it. Here's why
-Assad's use of Biological weapons against it's citizens is a clear violation of the Geneva protocol and is considered a war crime. -This is a "No Boots on the Ground" operation, meaning we won't see any casualties on our side. -Assad's Govt. is a bit more organized than Taliban forces hiding in caves firing soviet-era RPGs at us. This means we won't be dealing with similar Guerrilla tactics, meaning this will be an open/shut conflict. -For the reason above, this conflict will be over in a month or two.

What about potential hostile reaction from other foreign countries?

I'm against it for the following reasons- 1. The Rebels have been proven to have been killing Christians and other non Sunni Muslims 2. The largest faction of the Rebels is a group lined to Al Queda 3. A large faction of the Rebels is linked to insurgent groups in Iraq 4. The Rebels are just as anti-Israel as Assad's government 5. Its Syria's problem, let them sort it out.
This kind of shit happens all the time in Africa and yet no one intervenes there.

Trouble is if the Americans join the battle we follow. One of the perks of being allied to a country that plays 'Peacemaker'.

I heard something on the news today about Assad possibly retaliating if the US were to become involved. Then again I wasn't really listening too well either.

As of right now, I think the US needs to be more worried about their own government to be honest.

Syria's old news. They've begun the dismantling of chemical weapons. Now we're worried about defaulting.
