Cheap crap, iPhone, Android? I went with a Galaxy Nexus recently. So far, it's been great. Battery life gets sucked up by the huge screen, but otherwise it's a heck of a performer.

Motorolla flip phone. Was happy with it for the better part of six years. Now the screen has died on me. Recommendations?

Motorolla flip phone. Was happy with it for the better part of six years. Now the screen has died on me. Recommendations? What are your preferences? Do you want to get into a smart phone or stick with a flipper? If you like smart phones, the two big ones now are the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the Droid Razr. If you'd prefer a phone with a huge screen and the best possible software plus guaranteed software updates and upgrades as they come out, the Nexus is the way to go. If you want something seriously tough and water resistant with a lot of power but a slightly smaller screen and a lack of software upgrades (it may or may not get 4.5) then go for the Droid Razr. I personally like the Nexus because I like to tinker with my phone and it's very open to playing around with on the Nexus platform. Plus with an Otter Box Defender it's got some water resistance and is very well protected. If you don't want to spend a ton of money on a smart phone and just want to stick with a basic flip phone, Casio makes one that's got a good GPS installed and can take a dip in the pool and come out unharmed.

Cheers Glutton, I went in to get another flipper but the Samsung GT cost the same as the new Motorolla. Big difference between the touch-screen and a keypad though.

I just got a Samsung Galaxy Note it's pretty good it's like a mini tablet/pad.
I like the texting all you have to do is drag your stylus or finger from one letter to the nest & it spells it in order.

I don't know what my phone is called. The guy at Verizon gave it to me and it has a number pad and lets me send text messages. It can take pictures, so that's kind of cool I guess.

It'll also benefit you to get a good case, see if Otter makes one. Also make sure you keep the screen against your thigh if you keep it in your pocket. That way if you bump into something your thigh is padding the screen.

I have mine is called a gravity-T or something like that, it's not quite a smart phone, but not a dumb phone either , it has a applications, and a keyboard for heavy texting. I work in a call center, I hate bing on the phone , when someone calls me outside work, I don't answer and I text them back, my phone works well for this.

Yea, i'm about to get the Maxx for the upgrade or whatever. I have to have a phone with a slide or flip keyboard but the only phone I can touch without one is the Droid Razr. It's the perfect phone.

So my Nexus hasn't really been holding up to the test of time. Had it about a year? I'm lucky in that I have a special Verizon plan made for people who work in the electronics industry that isn't available to most people so I get upgrades more often. The only downside is that I can only upgrade to CERTAIN phones. The next upside is that I can probably get the S4 when it comes out at the end of the month, so I think I'll do that. No more Nexus devices for me. This thing was built cheap, and the more I look into it the cheaper ALL of the Nexus devices come across no matter who made them.
