No. Just. No. The best thing you can do in life is ignore your friend's advice on this subject. It'll save you a lot of money and heartache. By all means keep him as a friend just never accept his advice on Martial Arts. Ever.

first of all, you have to know that ninjutsu is considered one of the most useless martial arts right now, by many people.
taekwondo is there also, not as much as ninjutsu, but still.
if you want to be a round fighter i suggest you take sumo(srry had to say it). ok seriously, thera are other choices, like for example: krav maga+ muay thai/kyokushin karate/sanda+brazilian jiujitsu/judo/wrestling.

You can study Taijutsu or Tae Kwon Do, and do quite well for yourself. It always comes down to the individual school and teacher as to whether or not what you are learning will be worthwhile.
You do not NEED to study multiple martial arts in order to be a good fighter, or well rounded. It's a good idea to get exposure to the different points of view, but that is only to keep your mind open to the possibilities.
You should take notice of the biographies of some of the most impressive martial artists of the late 1800's to mid 1900's. Most of them studied only one martial art their entire lives, and they were very foreboding fighters, who fought only when they had to.
Far too many people study far too little of a large number of martial arts and call themselves well rounded. The truth of their situation, is yes, they do know a decent bit of ground work, joint manipulation, and striking. However, they are not as good as they can be if they focused on one area, and studied it into the ground and kept digging.

Haha, Tae Kwon Do is not useless! Its great for self defence, and its an olympic sport. I have use dit fpr self defence and its good. Ninjutsu is good for self defence too, but I agree, its useless. Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do is the martial art, Jeet Kune Do is the philosophy, look it up.

I don't consider them usless I consider them the most Mc'dojo or Mc'dojang proned all martial arts have bad instructors some styles are more prone to it then others. you dont need more then one style to be well rounded. if you train correctly and have a good instructor

There's good Taekwondo out there. I personally can't say the same about Ninjutsu. And even if I could, neither contains enough groundwork for me to consider it well rounded.
