I was told ITF Taekwon-do has grappling but what about the WTF school?
Does Taekwondo have any grappling in it?

www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FEydS1uoHEi think this is a wtf form the opening movement turn to the side downward sweep, punch and then you turn and repeat. most people will use it as the attacker coming from the left, which is fine. -but if you use it for as the attacker comes from the front, say he grabs your arm, your first movement is the fold for downward sweep. in which if he grabs your right wrist, you grab his with the same hand fold up and come down as turning the downward sweep into an armbar, as you turn you are throwing the person in that direction, or breaking his arm. -if the attacker being in front throws a bunch at your face, the cover is the parry (left arm parrys) striking with the right, sizing the hand that you just perry, turning it into a wrist lock, turning into the left forcing him down. i hope my descriptions make sense my point is a downward sweep isnt always blocking a kick, there are a number of applications, i can spend months going over just those first four moves and not touch on the same one twice.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jasv4JFEsZ8This is Taekwondo WTF poomsie 7 Chil Jang During this poomsie you will see the technqiue of how to rotate your wrist when someone grabs it into a back fist jerk.. You will also see a grappling attack when the practioner during the second session uses a technique on how to catch your opponents head into a knee attack leading to a release with a double hand twist punch. Poomsie number 10 www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Oele1YwLmYIn this poomsie you will learn how to self defence against hand grab this pattern teaches how to rotate your body when someone grabs you by your hand... as you can see the person rotates and does a double elbow mid section hit followed by double elbow face hit. and there are plenty more hidden self defence applications in the patterns, Your sahbumnim will tell you how and where to perform those techniques.

It depends 100% on the instructer. my WTF tkd master teaches very simmilarly to that of an ITF one. we frequently train in clinch sparring (simmilar to judo) where we look for only throws and takedowns, and once on the ground we have to get up from it (which i think is a very good way of training.) I get the edge in class somtimes cuse of my bjj XP haha.
and if you also look in depth at the poomse in WTF forms, there are many throws and grabs in many of the forms (not that im a big fan of them)

Yes there is grappling on TKD,
The real question is in my opinion is it being taught?
I believe some place do and others do not. Just like in other arts.

In all forms, there is grappling. The only problem is that there isn't enough time in a class to spend on kicks, punches, self defense, grappling, etc. So you don''t learn enough in just one night. There's just to much to learn so you need a lot of time to spend.
