You cannot learn from videos, or at home, or grappling. For that purpose you are out of luck.
Are there gyms in other cities nearby?

Can you mix styles yourself? Is there any BJJ nearby? Judo? SAMBO? Wrestling? For striking is there Boxing? Muay Thai? Full contact Karate? A lot of great fighters started off with one style and didn't join an MMA gym until they were far more prominent.

Sometimes its about making sacrifices. You gotta decide if its worth making the drive 2 times a week. If not, think about training in something else thats closer.
But Franks right, you will not learn from books/dvd's/internet. All of that is supplementary material, not a replacement for the gym.

An hour is nothing if you care enough. Online videos will teach you moves but there's no way they help you if you do it wrong and not always explained perfectly. It's near impossible to become good with youtube videos than a person to help you. It's like trying to learn jiu jitsu or wrestling from online, you would be fighting the air and have no clue where to grab and push etc. if you care enough, take the hour drive my dude

My best advice if you truly live literally nowhere within an hour of a training facility would be to find someone who knows what there doing, make friends with them. Ask if they can show you some stuff over webcam. I can't think of another way for you bud.
