Hey i know this probably isnt the place to ask this question, but i just wanted to know if anyone has had time to train in college/ med school and how much. im strongly considering going to med school after college but ive heard stories about how you get 6 hours of sleep on a good day. any comments of experiences would be awesome.

it was hard but yes i went to college part time worked part time then trained only had 1 amateur fight but then i had to slow down the training you can do it. guy i train with george sullivan is a pro fighter he works 7am-4pm doing construction 5 days then trains 5pm-9pm every day. he is currently the welterweight champion of CFFC. so you can do it but it isn't easy and take some serious determination

I only had 1 year of College and I plan on going back sometime in the future, but during that year I trained quite a bit. My parents wanted me to stop and focus entirely on schoolwork but I basically said "Screw that!" Don't live life with any regrets. Do whatever you have to in order to keep doing what you love while you're in school. I've got this fear that letting life get in the way of training will only lead to letting it stay in the way later and that if I stop I may never be able to continue. I've seen it happen to people before. I wouldn't let that happen. There are places that teach martial arts in the early mornings and in the latter parts of the evening and even in the early afternoon. Find a gym that fits with your class schedule if you have to.

University was both the best and worst times for me in martial arts. I was working all nights of the week so I could only attend two hour long afternoon Karate classes that were really meant for kids. On the bright side I had money and long breaks at university that I spent training with other martial artists from different styles.

Pretty much what I've heard is that if your earning any professional degree, thats all you will be doing. I plan on going to law school in the next year, and I don't expect to have much free time. I imagine med school being much worse.
In my opinion, school is more important than anything. If it means less martial arts time, then Oh well, martial arts isn't going to pay the bills. So its better to focus on school.
