Reminds me of a mount escape I use frequently. Its not formally taught anywhere because you have to be flexible, and its just considered "bad technique." But essentially you just bring your leg as close towards your head and wrap it around the top guys torso, and you push him off...opens you up for some leg locks.
There wasnt really a name for this escape, so I dubbed it the 'reach-around.' As gay as that sounds. I couldnt think of anything else lol.

Haha I know what you mean, my instructor saw me doing this when I very first started, I'm flexible to the point you can question my sexuality (thanks to both my parents being flexible as well.) I kept getting it on everyone, then my instructor told me the same thing as well, it's bad technique, I simply grapevine there legs and drop all my weight to make the mount the least of their worries. Either way.. your "reach around" reminds me one of the triangle escape my instructor taught me yesterday lol. You get wrist control, throw your outside leg over and grab it with the hand that's inside then throw the other one over and create a guard, or a figure 4 on his body. Use that leverage to pull yourself the fuck out of there. It actually works. Same for pinning the knee to the ground and driving straight with the inside hand on his hip and the outside hand on his far shoulder. It's almost as if you were crushing him like a can. Hurts like a mother fucker being on bottom! You can't breath! Lol

Sounds like a cool trick, I'll have to try that.
Well the thing about the reach around is that, you not only have to be flexible, but you have to be fast too...same reason, for stacking against a triangle....if you don't do the reach around fast enough, he's going to end up pushing your leg and hip into your gut, and it doesn't feel very good. You can injure yourself easily with it....thats why its not considered good technique....but I think it's stupid to think that way. If it works, then it works. Doesn't matter of its sloppy, or slick.
