With the advent of newer and newer technology, everything is becoming more automized.
You know the way things are going one day wars might be fought by robots or something, or if a new era of peace miraculously happens.
As sad as it sounds, will martial arts eventually die out?

No, the need for combat skill will always be present, as human beings are aggressive, territorial beings.

I doubt it. If people find it interesting to them they keep it up. And many do like martial arts. Even if the world gets super high tech it won't make hand to hand combat useless. As for if the world goes the way of peace, still martial sports would continue and also martial arts aren't all about fighting. You always hear about how styles are meant for defense and are a way of life to develope both ur body and mind. Besides world peace doesn't mean sum dude isn't still gonna try and roll u in a back ally

Why bother risking thousands of dollars making your robot fight their robot when you can just clinch the two up, run around them both and beat the guy who relies completely on his machine to do the fighting into the ground? After that you can switch his robot off or better still, steal it.

Wars are being phased out. Human conflict isn't. There will always be a need for individual, civilian, martial arts. They day martial arts are phased out is the day humans are phased out.

Martial arts will not be phased out as long as humans are in existence. I must agree with KW except for the part of wars being phased out.
There are many treaties in place that are meant to prevent any more wars. But WWII still happened. The Gulf War, Israel and Palestine, Syria, and many other are still fighting and happening. Humans will find something to disagree about and it is usually tied to money and or pride.

Did you forget religion or does that tie neatly into both money and pride?

You are correct religion. Most of the conflict wit Israel is religion. The Somalian attacking the Kenyan is religious too.

Considering the way warfare has evolved from digging trenches and trying to shoot the enemy from far, far away to modern day warfare that's taking place inside of buildings or across city streets, I doubt that we're going to see the face of war change to robots fighting each other any time within the next few hundred years. With the development of firearms technology, we initially saw people starting to fight at farther and farther distances. Now we're seeing the nature of warfare getting closer and closer to face to face fighting again. IF the time ever comes that all wars are fought with robots, we can leave the decision of how important martial arts training is to our great great great great great great great great grandchildren.
