Anyone know much about Chito-ryu Karate?
Is it a good style or one to avoid?
What is it like? is it more Shotokan or Goju-ryu like?
Thoughts?

there is no bad styles only bad instructors.
chinto ryu is a combination of about 4 or 5 styles, not just those two what is going to set the style apart is the hip and shoulder motion. which in this style i'm unsure of, goju uses a triple hip motion and hips/shoulders remain square, where as shito ryu double hip motion and hips/shoulders remain square, shotokan uses a single hip motion and the hips alternat between square and half.
im unsure which chinto ryu uses, although i believe there hips/shoulders remain square

yeah there is really no best style only some styles are more plagued with mcdojos than others. like wing chun & taekwondo have 2 of the highest mcdojo percentages per capita out of all the styles so most peoples experiences with them are garbage and they tell people to stay away from them. and what your teacher is teaching isn't what his teacher taught him but his own interpretation of it just like you won't be able to do exactly what your teacher does because your body's are different and you think differently so if you become a teacher/coach you will be teaching your interpretation of the style and that could include anything you didn't learn from your teacher or anything you did differently or anything else. The reason I'm not in jeet kune do/jun fan gung fu or wing chun is because the schools that teach them here blow so I'm stuck at a decent mma gym until I can find something better which I doubt will happen anytime soon unless there's a miracle and all the karate dojos start teaching real karate then I would join. kokoro- wow good stuff man I didn't know that I've never thought about that before even though I've learned to do it differently from a few different styles I've always done what was most natural now I gotta think about a few things and maybe make a few adjustments according to physics & maybe I'll be able to hit harder.
