Just wondering if anyone else does exercises specifically to train ligaments? In my ma we do some muscle training of course but primarily use ligaments as our source of power rather than muscles. So yea does anyone else do this and how?

I don't know much about it but apparently its like when you do forms and fight yourself to do it like pushing your arm out at the elbow while pulling back a bit so your moving slowly but trying to move fast but your holding yourself back... if that makes absolutely any sense to you lol

D: .. ummm no sry i dont rly get that. do u mean like putting yourself under tension thru ur forms,, so like slow tense motion?? idk but if u mean that then to a small extent yes but no i mean u do exercises that u would naturally use ur muscles for but u try to disengage them and activate ligaments instead

the main two are the ones feeding between ur hips to legs and shoulder to arms. idk what the technical names would be but those r the base ones. ur meant to incorporate everything tho once u have the main ones started on. since ive posted this ive begun to better understand what the training is actually doing and so far i've discovered that its not all about ligament training, it is part of it but that's just a basic concept they start u off with. so i was a bit of a noob asking that. from what i gather now the ligaments r just a secondary thing being trained and its not pure ligament training anyhow so i was just way off. sryyyy

I've heard hamstrings are hard to get right.....if I was you I would book in some sessions with a Physio.

yea just listen to ur doc or whoever ur seeing. rehab exercises are usually pretty different from the training u'd do in martail arts or general fitness. so just stick to whatever u've been given i'd say cos u'd be trying to rebuild or let the muscle heal not start strengthening it in a proper training sense
