For those who sharpen/strop their knives, what methods and materials do you use?

When I was in the scouts I used the old grinder until somebody showed me how to use the stone.

Stone sharpening is something else. The more you do it, the more you understand knives in general. It's like opening a textbook and flipping through the pages every time you make a stroke.

Yeah, half tempted to put the sword to the stone and see if I can make an edge when the original one was ground off.

Man love the knife collection guys. awesome pictures! unfortunatly we aren't allowed to carry them here, it carries a big fine or you can go to jail so I don't. My favorite though are the Tonto & the Gerker of which I have several.

I just ordered a new blade. I had a Bark River fixed blade purchase all planned out... Well you know what they say about mice and men and all of that crap. I ended up impulse buying one of these: This is going to be my first Emerson. I've actually had a secret crush on the 7 for about 5 years now. I'm not a "tactical" knife person. I'm also not a big fan of Tanto style blades. I also don't care much for black coatings. Don't like chisel grinds, either. The weird thing about the CQC-7 is that it has so many features that would usually be a deal breaker on their own for me, and yet I still found myself lusting for it. Had to have it! Not my picture, just a really cool one I found with a Google search. I'll put some pics of mine up when it gets here!
