no one is beating silva, gsp, aldo, junior and if cruz beats renan i weill add him to this list. to many wrestlers to many point fighters. your opinions? i think the ufc should upgrade the timidity rule. im tired of the point fighters then the UFC hipsters telling me i don't get it after practicing bjj tkd and muay thai for multiple years

Realize that the problem mainly rests on Jackson and his camp. He is single handidly killing the sport. But I think the sport is starting to fight back. Take for example the Guida/Maynard fight. The fight was identical to the Diaz/Condit fight but Maynard ended up winning. I feel that the Athletic commission will soon start instituting rules to combat Jackson's tactics, because they are very well aware of them at this point. I don't think the lay and pray tactics used by wrestlers are the problem. Remember its sport, the point is to win, not entertain fans. The problem rests solely on Jackson and his fighters, where they take that lay and pray tactic and up it x10, and turn a fight into a triathlon, where the goal is to hit your opponent and run like hell.
As for nobody beating these other fighters, give it time. Nobody is EVER at the top forever...but sometimes guys retire before that moment occurs. I have a feeling Silva will go out undefeated. GSP will likely retire with the belt as well. But its just the name of the game....some of these guys are just GOATS.

it was like the diaz/condit fight but like a millions times worse at least condit threw some strikes ever now an again. and yes the need an extreme upgrade on the timidity rule. I honestly don't blame jackson i blame the fighter. because he has fighters that are exciting jon jones diego brandao diego sanchez brian stan cerrone. the fact of the matter if greg jackson has to tell you the best gameplan is to run away i don't think they should be fighting. because i really doubt you will ever see the guys i just mentioned running away. and yeah some of those guys are early calls. but thats what i think unless superfights occur

I don't think the timidity rule needs upgrading, I think they need to be spurred into fighting by stuffing with the round times and numbers, taking the UFC over to Brazil, China or Japan and holding tournaments to decide internship. Basically the more you tamper with the rules the more adaptive, aggressive and creative a fighter needs to be to win. The guy who wins a tournament might not be the same kind of fighter who'll earn his chance in the regular season and take anybody down in a regular match, then again he might, meaning the champion will be a very well-rounded fighter or there will be a few different title holders in a year. One thing I remember from Kickboxing was that the belt-holder was able to decide the number of rounds and round duration but if he was injured or sick and his challenger was decided by tournament the challenger called the shots. Basically it was to stop people from feigning injury to hold the title longer and actively defend it every four months.

I say bring back the one night tournaments! That will sort the men from the boys! Also get rid of the rule for controlling the octagon and allow stomps/soccer kicks!

Apparently the tournaments are illegal in the States. So the tournament would have to be held outside of America at reduced seat prices. They aren't going to like that.
