I'm required to take a long time off physical activity until my fractured arm heals up. It's been a week already, but I honestly can't take it anymore. Being a high energy person, this long period of inactivity is starting to stress me out. The pain is hardly the issue. It's the feeling of boredom that's starting drive me insane.
How do you all deal with with injuries that prevent you from practicing martial arts?

Yoga, pilates, Tai Chi, the gym and the pool. If your good arm is down for the count work on your weak arm. Having both equal is the desire of any martial artist.

I go to class and train with my limitations, 1, it is great practice, 2, you often find new techniques and methodologies that you would not have used previously.
You train within your limitations, obviously you are not going to be doing full on sparring where you have to block with that arm, are going 100% at any technique involving that arm.
Most martial artist are in some way or another constantly practicing with something tweaked or injured. You compensate, and many times through that compensation learn something wholly new.
Going to practice allows you to continue to learn even if you can't do a particular technique or say you have to do it with your non dominant hand, it can make you better.
Injuries are part of training, you learn to listen to your body and try not to push those boundaries and be wise enough to know what you can and can't do with an injury. And practice to the best of your ability while babying the injured appendage or joint.
Then there is always sport specific exercises you can do, pretty much all martial arts use jumping squats, that is something you can practice on your own for conditioning, as is any core exercises.
