What strikes does Aikido teach?

Depends on the school in question. Some teach as many as any other martial art you could think of, some teach none.

It does depend. We don't teach them outright to beginners, because we want beginners to focus on technique and principals. By striking, we tend to undo all of that fragile training. As we advance, we introduce various weaponed and non-weaponed strikes, including kicks.
It should be noted that although we don't strike (I should say, strikes are de-emphasized) we do have to know how to strike, so that we can develop proper defenses against them. Uke, therefore, must know how to deliver a proper and efficient strike. However, we rarely ever strike using common street tactics like jabs, upper cuts, kicks, headbuts, etc, until we get more experienced. The only exception are distration atemi - a backhand to the face, elbow to the stomach. We don't emphsize these either until we get more experienced. But we are told to be aware to take advantage of these opportunities, so that later they aren't too foreign a concept.
