My issue is-
The old injury was a broken hand whilst playing soccer. The hand healed but the knuckle broke in half. One half rests in the middle of the hand and the other half stayed but is now pointing down instead of up.
After X-rays, bone scans etc, the Doctor has said to stop all martial arts that involve punching as this causes pain and bruising in the hand.
Which martial arts could then be trained with this condition?
I'm thinking Aikido or modify my Hapkido.
Try to suggest martial arts that are complete. By that I mean that include strikes, defense against strikes etc.
BJJ and Judo are no good for me. The only dojos close to home teach it strictly for sport and not as a complete MA with their strikes etc.

Anything you want if you're after a style that practices everything. A messed up hand won't stop you training, you'll just have to be a bit more creative; find out what you can and can't do with the messed up hand and work around that knowledge. I got my left hand crushed by a bakery molder and was sure I'd broken everything in it, a trip to the doc revealed all was fine but I took the time to let it heal and used elbows where I would normally punch with my hand, it gave me an oddball timing that kind of worked in my favour. Just be creative in how you work around the problem.

I once met a capoeirista who had lost most of his left arm. Now, capoeira requires you to use both your arms a lot. For me, it seemed ridiculous that someone could actually cartwheel and do extremely complicated ground maneuvers with a single hand. However, after seeing this man in the roda I realized that he was better than nearly everyone else in the room, including me. Essentially, if you learn how to adapt creatively then there's absolutely nothing stopping you.
