i felt this way for a little while. i feel like they are over saturating the market and there is 1 headliner fight carrying the car. and like ufc 151 when that fight falls through so does the card. even though the last card on fuel was amazing. then i saw an article on cagepotato and thought i would post it. www.cagepotato.com/open-thread-does-anybody-even-care-anymore/

I think some of the fight cards in the last 18 months have been really poor and not particularly good viewing. I think they may be a lack of depth or just favourites getting constant shots.
Too much lay and pray

Yes, to the point I missed the last 2 fight cards (not on purpose, I just lost track).

i don't think the flyweight division is going to last. i don't think i've seen a flyweight fight without booing. i am enjoying the fight. not the most ideal thing to watch
edit- just as i post that jon dodson clocks the brazilian. right after they get back up some douche starts booing again

It needs major rule-changes to force new tactics and methods, the UFC victory has become something that can be trained for and it's removing the variety that made it interesting to begin with, everyone does much the same thing. I'd like to see one tournament per year for each weight division even if it's held in Japan or Brazil, single elimination tournaments demand a mindset that is hugely different to a one on one match no matter how many rounds the one on one lasts and they really showcase the fighters who can adapt to new challenges quickly.

One night tournaments are awesome! And yes, there needs to be rule changes. Too much lay and pray and boring avoidance of the fight but getting points for octagon control
