Just out of curiosity do you believe that we landed on the moon in 1969?
Please state why you believe or why you do not believe.

I think we did. Too many people had to have been involved...and for someone to have not come forward who was proven to be involved, should speak handfuls as to the validity of this ridiculous conspiracy theory.

It believe so.
It really makes no sense to fake a moon landing, at least to me.

I believe the USA did. 1. Why fake it when they would know that a lie that big would be found out. And that would be embarrassment to the country. 2. Too much money was put into it to be a fake. 3. Men like Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin are good men. They wouldn't be apart of a lie

That would be one hell of a conspirousy if we didn't. And I think other governments at the time would have called us on it if we didn't.

Well there are two men that was part of the mission that says it didn't happen. They say they live in hiding because everyone else that was involved that admitted it didn't take place mysteriously died or vanished.
I have doubted this story long before I heard about these men or any conspiracy. I can't prove anything, but I know our government has lied to us before and have lied to other governments. According to those men Armstrong and others are well paid to say it happened.
This allegedly happened in 1969. One year after I was born. There were no VCR, CD,DVD, IPad, Microwave Ovens, Remote Control TV. There were no Cell Phones. Did we have the technology tp do that? Doubtful. It is 2012 and I still lose cell phone signals. How did they get signals ove analog that far away?

jwbulldogs Your last point doesn't prove much. A normal calculator is more powerful than an Apollo guidance computer. If I remember correctly, the Apollo Guidance Computer cost around $100-150k to make back in the 60s. Now, if we're comparing that to the price of a remote control television, anybody familiar with the laws of supply and demand will tell you why the technology used back then wasn't widespread. I'll be honest, I haven't a clue how they used signalling in Apollo 11. What knowledge I had of early data transmission systems has long been forgotten. However, I do know that the first photos of the moon at a different angle were taken by one of the Soviet Luna missions. If the Soviets were able to transfer the data across, then I see no reason why the Americans weren't able to do the same. Oh, and I believe the first microwave ovens were developed from the technology used in WWII radars. They were in use before the moon landings. The first mobile phone call was performed 66 years before my sister's birthday (17th June 1946.) Couldn't the same technology be used in a space?

I don't recall the Soviets ever reaching the moon.
How many other countries have sent people to the moon since 1969? Why hasn't there been more. Certainly since we are in the technology age everyone can go there now.
The mobile phone of 1946 was created in St. Louis. Each person that subscribe to the service had an 80 pound phone that sent a signal of a radio frequency. The distance that the frequency could be transmitted was limited. It could reach the moon. It could reach California from St. Louis. It was initially created to reach a ship from the shore.

Actually, the Soviets were the first nation to land an unmanned object on the moon. I think the mission was called Luna 2, and they achieved it by crashing the spacecraft at high velocity onto the surface of the moon. I think the mission took place at 1959, but I might need to check up on that.
Nope, everybody can't go there. It's still very expensive; we're talking about completely alien conditions here; conditions that are very different from what human beings are meant to live in. And plus, why exactly would you want to go to the moon? There's nothing much there.
Precisely; in the space of 20 years, surely they could have improved that system into being able to transmit signals from larger distances? Radio waves are part of the electromagnetic spectrum; just like light. The only real difference in Radio waves and Light is the wavelength of the electromagnetic wave; they both travel at the speed of light. Light can reach WAY further than the distance of of the moon, which is the reason we can see distant stars. If radio waves can behave in the same manner, the moon is not really much of a problem in terms of communication, is it?

I want to see NASA try for Mars. Send a human crew or a monkey.

@frasier; you might find this interesting: mars-one.com/en/Let's face it, people living on Mars on 2023 would be awesome.

Having something crash on the moon and safely landing and then relaunching on the moon are not the same. There was supposedly a race encouraged by patriotism to see which country could reach the moon first. Allegedly we the USA won. There is no way they will ever admit that they lied. But if we did reach the moon why haven't many other countries caught up in technology and gone to the moon too. They all gave up because of those Americans? It wouldn't be the first time the government has lied to the public. Technology today is so much better than what was available in 1969.

Honestly the moon is a lump of rock being dragged around by our planet's gravitational pull. Why would anyone want to go there?
It only has a primitive core so it doesn't produce oil or diamonds or any other interesting stuff like Earth does. One of the reasons people wanted to get to the moon was to create military observation and assault locations, we've already created satelites and space stations that have proved themselves much more useful in terms of servailance due to their mobility and are yet to create a weapon that can be efficiently used from outside the atmosphere. So what does the moon offer exactly? A crust of dirt. A mantle of rock. Two outer cores of molten iron and a core of solid iron. ... ... ... Not exactly a rescource boom. As to the USA lying about the moon landing...even if it is bullshit it's hardly the worst bullshit that Australia has happily bought from the US of A. Just take a look at the military equipment we buy off you, defective helicopters, APCs that don't work and guns that jam. The most amusing part is that we have companies on our own soil building better stuff in every one of those areas but we buy a certain percentage of our stuff from America to 'Maintain a record of faith'.
