Specifically, which guard do you guys like the most? I really like to use the Butterfly Guard a lot. it's so helpful with those big lummoxes that just use their weight on you. IMO, best guard for a sweep. and transitions nicely into the X-Guard which i've been developing.
Your take?

i also used to like butterfly guard but my right knee is messed up and hurts when i use it like that so I'm really only able to use one butterfly hook. but i just like guard because I'm a lot better on top than bottom and i have a nice sweep technique where i sit up make it look like I'm going for the persons neck but when the pull there head up i get a quick over hook and just do a leg scissor sweep because they are already a little off balance from avoiding me going for the neck. and if they don't pull there head up i have their neck(well that is if it goes as planned).

ball & chain ride & knee on stomach for positions.
I don't particularly like any whore hold but if I had to chose one it would be the guard w/kidney squeeze. I don't get to use guard that often only in my bjj class and my coach drills it extensively because I'm a wrestler at heart and I hate being on my back being pinned down.
My coach used to accuse me of lay & pray tactics but then I showed him I just like to get control before I submit which is like lay & pray but with submissions to finish it.
I noticed most Jiujiteiro hate lay & pray because they can't move while pinned but good wrestlers take it a step further and finish with subs instead of lying there in control the whole time because what good is control without a finisher???.
