Part of what The Caged Dojo is about, is separating traditional martial arts, from modern martial arts. Some people want to talk about Karate, but keep coming up with UFC results, or vice versa. So in an effort to combat this, please post relevant topics/questions in their appropriate sections. To help with this, here is a guide on what is what. Most arts, created within the 20th century are considered modern arts. Anything before, was considered traditional arts. Obviously, there is no set date, but as a rule of thumb, try and remember this. If you want to discuss arts like Karate, Wing Chun, Tae Kwon Do, etc...then it probably belongs in the Traditional section. If you want to discuss anything UFC/MMA related, Muay Thai, Judo, BJJ, related then it likely belongs in the Modern Section. Other arts are more ambiguous, such as wrestling, Judo, Jeet Kune Do, etc... can be harder to label. In such cases. Just use your best judgement. And when all else fails....remember, you can always just post it in the General Martial Arts section.
