If so, what do you like about it? What distribution do you use? I've been looking into it a lot more and I'm thinking of buying a cheap netbook to install Ubuntu or Mint on as a beater and just for learning to use Linux in general. As a tech nerd, it seems like something it might be worth learning just for the heck of it. If you use it, how do you like it? Particularly interested in hearing about Linux as a desktop interface rather than for servers.

I don't, but I'm curious about it as well.

I played with Mint a bit at work. A coworker brought his laptop with it for me to check out. He recommends Ubuntu and Mint, like I mentioned, based on how much software support there is for them. He says if you want maximum software support, Ubuntu is the most mainstream Linux distribution and will have the most. If you want a system that runs lighter on your resources, Mint isn't too far behind and is less of a hog. Really seems to run smoothly, but you may need to learn a good number of codes to do certain things with the system at times.
This is all I've gathered so far. That's why I'm curious if anybody else here has played with it, too.
