Saw that a few weeks ago. Just comes to show you the life long skills that modern arts instill in you. Nothing fancy, just good ol fashioned drilling and combo's. It's kind of funny, you see most senior citizens who still do martial arts can barely move and more observers than anything, but this guy not only stopped an assailant, he kicked his ass, plain and simple lol.

Nice find, it says he served in the Royal Engineers as well. Not sure if any non Canadians/UK are familiar with that but it's pretty cool.

Not exactly, they served in Canada from Britain most during the formation of Canada, British Columbia specifically. They were a sort of military unit but were also largely responsible for military engineering as well as building structures for new settlements.
During the time where trench warfare was prominent they would dig a tunnel underneath the battlefield to directly beneath the enemy trench where they planted explosives and collapsed the enemy trench from underneath. It was a pretty common task for the Royal Engineers.
They are also commonly referred to as Sappers by some.

Never underestimate an opponent, even though the guy had about 50 years on this armed burglar, he kicked his ass! I'm loving this story
