Hi all
Is it worth learning traditional weapons like the Bo or should we do modern weapon training like in knives via Krav Maga etc alongside our TMA?

The bo might be stretching it a bit because of its size but the staff in general is still the most easily found weapon on the planet, I think bo, jo and kali sticks would cover just about everything you need to know about handling stick type weapons. I'm not a big endorser of Krav Maga but if you can find a good teacher you can consider it a seminar and go for it.

You can as a hobby I suppose but I personally don't carry kali sticks or bo staves around with me. You could always improvise but they wouldn't even be close to the quality of the ones you practice with.

What Karateka said. I thought about doing Kendo, just for fun, I also figured it might help me with my reflexes. I don't think theres anything wrong with doing any TMA, or weapons training, as long as you understand alot of it, is not applicable.

In my opinion you should learn whatever you're interested in no matter criticisms even if they come from me which they would because i think a lot of that shit is pointless. It is cool to know and can be useful, but my gun will always beat your stick though if you are looking for effectiveness
