If I remember, its VERY similar to Muay thai as this style came from Indonesia. The south eastern countries went to war alot so the 2 styles are very similar to each other. I have never done it but it seems like a mix of Kabri kabrong and muay thai.

Silat is like Kung Fu and has many styles that emphasis different parts.
Silat is not come only Indonesia but most of south-east aisa.
Silat is from south-east Asia and is generally broken up into two category. They are Silat from Malaysia- Silat Melayu and Silat from Indonesia- Pencak Silat. However Silat can also be found here in Singapore, southern Thailand and Vietnam. It has history in this countries going back hundreds of years.
I've trained in Silat Melayu and my style was very hitting focus and weapons came later. It was almost the same as Muay Thai. We did sparring and competition. My friend did another style and it was weapon and hitting later.
Watch youtube to see videos.
Excuse my English. It is my second language and I use Google translate to help write.
