I'm new to this forum but not new to martial arts (at least15 years of exp). I've kind of done the reverse path compared to most martial artist meaning I went from MMA to TMA.
My grappling foundation consists of Shoot Fighting, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Judo while cross referencing Sambo and Shuai Jiao thru Books & DVD's.
My TMA foundation is Choy Li Fut and Yang Tai Chi Chuan complimented with Wing Chun & Bagua Chuan as secondary arts but still a rookie at these arts IMHO.
Due to relocating to a different state am not being able to find an art like Bagua, Xing Yi, Chen tai chi, Baji Quan or a Silat I'm currently attending a wing chun club to get my partner training in and am supplementing training with books and DVDs for my choy li fut and bagua since I have a good grasp on basic structure and concept of the arts.
Pretty much my own fighting philosophy and personal style is to stay on the out side so I can bash and if the opponent closes the gap i switch to the WC & Bagua to set up my locks & throws preferably not going to the ground but if I do I have my grappling knowledge to help me submit or reverse so I can get back to my feet.
Well that's pretty much my description i hope to see some entertaining and educational discussions on tho forum and thanks for the add.
