I really like Shidokan karate. It not only has kyokushin, but also Judo and muay thai.

There is no best martial art. This ego-driven topic is entirely subjective, and can be argued into infinity and there will never be a consensus. talon, what friendlyvirus said is true in general, so I'm not sure why you thumbed it down. The only thing that can be determined is the quality of the individual, not the system.

True, but it should be those of us with more experience to help guide those with lesser experience out of the ego-centric world within the martial arts.

There is no best martial art, there are pros and cons to every martial art system. Quality instruction in a realistic manner and the persons dedication to practicing and learning are much more important than what style you happen to practice. I also thought that we had moderators that were supposed to delete questions like this, yet we a have a global moderator playing with it. KW's Famous List of Questions NOT to Ask « Thread Started on Jun 22, 2012, 6:55am » Here at The Caged Dojo, we pride ourselves an allowing everyone to openly express yourselves in a safe environment. However there are a few questions that make most YA! Martial artists shudder and cringe, simply because we have seen them asked far too often. And while asking these questions isn't necessarily against the rules, and won't be deleted, they will however be moved to the N00b corner. They are the following 1. Whats the best/deadliest martial art? 2. Whats the best art for me? 3. Who would in a fight between X and Y? 4. Anything involving Chuck Norris 5. Can style X beat style Y? 6. Where can I find an X gym in my city? 7. Is this place a McDojo? 8. Am I too old/young to learn a martial art? 9. I'm getting into a fight tomorrow, what should I do? 10. Did I win this fight? 11. Can I learn martial arts at home/using a book/dvd/internet? 12. How long does it take to earn a black belt? 13. What martial art did they use in this movie? 14. How do I disable/kill someone in one strike? Read more: thecageddojo.boards.net/index.cgi?board=news&action=display&thread=73#ixzz1z0O1gJzZ

It annoys me that some people on here say that they have more experience than others especially if they are moderators or administrators. I bet I have more experience than some in my martial arts. I have almost 21 years in martial arts(started Boxing at 12, Judo at 15 and been learning Wing Chun since I was 22 and BJJ since I was 27.) I am a Purple belt in BJJ and have a Blue belt in Judo. Plus an extensive and fairly successful Golden Gloves career in Boxing here in Australia and have trained in Hong Kong under Chu Shong-tin. Currently finishing an instructor course under the International Wing Chun Academy in Sydney. Lets try kiddies to be humble and polite. Some of us don't need to brag.

I think most of the people on here, myself included, have practiced some form of martial arts, for most of our lives. Granted some people embellish or just flat out fabricate, I don't think any of our mods or admins do that really. I wouldn't pick staff that weren't knowledgeable, experienced or helpful in some manner.

One problem is this site sometimes comes across as an inside conversation between the admins and mods. This could explain the slow down.

When most people talk about having experience they aren't saying they have more experience than everyone else. It is just a reference to those that have only been studying for a few months to a few years who think they already know everything. You have guys that have been studying for 20 plus years. In that amount of time you have seen a lot and have done a considerable amount of training. You have learned a lot. You have dedicated a portion of your life to learning the martial arts. It is part of who you are.
