I have heard rumors there is a traditional Philipino {I believe} Martial Arts style, that they drink a traditional whiskey ever 10 minutes or so during training. The ultimate aim of which I've been told, is to block out all but the Art they are doing, so they can only concentrate on this, get their techniques perfect & be more focused for their training. Has anyone heard of this/does it really exist? If so what is it called? Is the idea behind the drinking correct? & lastly how do I join the class?!!

there are more styles of philippino arts then there are islands in the philippine's, both china and philipino arts influenced okinawan karate, even the drunken styles influenced karate, there are a few forms of drunk karate. so it is very possible that the influence came from china as well through okinawa. mind you this is only a possibility.
drunken styles pose a liability to the owner, so they have become very rare or at least the drinking part of it has, the concepts can still be practiced.

I know there is a kung fu style called drunken boxing, although it's just imitating a drunk person, and they don't actually drink lol
But I did hear once in krav maga- might be remembering this wrong- there are some parts of training where they get drunk or get the effect of being drunk, in the hope that will train them to fight while drunk, but I dunno lol
also... couldn't resist ;D
