Thats what this board was created for....to talk as much shit as possible.....if you can form a logical, coherent argument, then more props to ya.
But basically my warning is, if your feelings get hurt easily, don't post in here. I know with some people, I can argue to the death with them, and call them a name or two, then when all is said and done, we go back to being friends. And thats how it should be in here. Talk shit, then go back to being friends. Think of it as a verbal sparring session.

I'm sure it will soon enough. But a fire can't start without fuel.

Would it be possible to do verbal sparring with aliveness ?
NHB insults xD
I know, today is my slowest day at work, I'm bored.

Well this is going nowhere fast. You have an area that warns people not to enter unless they have thick skin and wind up with Frank, Glutton, Yourself and me. Four people who have a history of thick skin and no real difference of opinion to hash out with the other three. Except maybe Glutton's and my reasons for believing Wing Chun is a bad place to learn martial arts. Glutton believes the techniques useless, I believe the people who practice Wing Chun create a counter-productive atmosphere. Glutton has practiced Wing Chun, I haven't so his opinion kind of outweighs mine.

3 years of Wing Chun training. Never again.
At least I didn't train with the Booj. Before learning about all of the shady crap lurking behind the scenes in the Bujinkan I was seriously considering taking it up.

@ Odee: Haha I'm here and I've actually been here just waiting for a good verbal debate to finally occur.

What if one never happens? What if everybody really just wanted a place like this to begin with to really discuss things like adults?
You guys, this is scaring me. We need some drama and we need it now!

Ok, I'll try:
Do you guys believe that point sparring can be a combat tool? I know it's not a realistic format since you stop once the point is awarded, pause then go again, no follow up.
Yet I think the timing you develop can be valuable, the footwork to connect a strike then get out of the way is also a good habit you develop when sparring, since basically you are in and out of striking range quickly.
Thoughts?

Yes, I do. See, we're not getting anywhere!
Like you said, point sparring can develop timing. Plus in some styles, such as fencing, it makes more sense than it might in others (even though it doesn't make perfect sense by any means). Although if your ultimate goal is to gain proficiency in a fight, you need to train accordingly, and point sparring is not training accordingly in most cases.

That's cruel Chef. Personally I find it amusing. Especially when their parents get bent out of shape and demand that their opponent be fouled for hitting too hard. Makes a guy wonder if these people even understand what they're saying. Hitting too hard? What is this, a pillow fight?
