So I was the idiot that filled in for a fight thats tomorrow. I don't train in striking alot, and its pure kickboxing, so I'm kinda nervous. Tips? lol.
I'm fighting heavyweight. He's got a few inches on me in height and reach. But I have about 15 pounds on him. And my opponent has no experience. I was told he was pretty nervous after seeing me. So hopefully I can use that to my advantage lol.

this was weird cuz one of my partners story is the same as yours short notice fight, kickboxing, hes mostly a wrestler, opponent is bigger. no real tips except hands up, stay technical, don't chase him, don't back up circle, also idk what kinda promotion it is but i've been to kickboxing matches with clinches and no clinches if your promotion has clinches i suggest it use your weight advantage, and good luck buddy.

No clinches. Only real thing I'm concerned about is cardio. It was never that great, and I have no time to prepare....

try not to let him push the pace try not to push the pace harder than you should. know what you are capable of. no offense or any thing but are you trying to win or survive? you don't sound to confident which is very key.

didn't you ever learn how to punch or kick lol like wtf man!
rocks right and do you know anything about your opponent, his style & how he fights or do you have a game plan at least??
one of my favourite tricks is use my hands for a bit so they think I can't kick then fake a cross & pull out a spinning back kick or spinning side kick to the gut which usually catches them off guard & changes their way of fighting because they know I can kick now.
also if you find yourself backing up you can use that to your advantage with a well timed cross to the face adding their forward moving momentum onto it to add power.
I'll add more in a bit as it comes to me I'm tired lol and idk waht to say about your cardio tubby just don't burn out!!!!!!!

I'm not confident because I took this fight last minute. I haven't had any time to prepare or train. I'm going in for a knockout. If it was just to survive, I wouldn't be doing it.

Study the rules and find out what whithering shots you are allowed to use. Be agressive, get in quick and go hard after those shots. Don't be afraid of him. Study the rules. Study the fouls. Study the system. Dumb as it sounds a lot of people only have a general idea of the rule-sets in their own competitions.

well if you're going for the knockout just don't go wild since you are worried about cardio make your hard punches very well timed don't just rush forward at him. and to add to chef's bag of tricks if you are backing up i like to bounced off the ropes and come back with a hard straight right which could work since you're going for the KO

Stick to basics, if you only feel comfortable with 2 punches (let's say jab and cross, or just left and right hook), only do that for the fight. If you feel you can only do push kicks, then just do that.
Keep your hands up, circle your opponent, relax and think of it as a sparring session.
Breathe and relax.
