As far as I know, Ju Jutsu is the correct spelling (newest and most accurate romanized alphabet for the Japanese language) and Jiu Jitsu is the older and less correct spelling based on a faulty romanized alphabet for the Japanese language and it's characters.
These days I think Ju Jutsu refers to the mainly traditional and modern schools of Japanese Ju Jutsu whereas Jiu Jitsu refers to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as they have kept it for the difference and since Judo was called in English Kano Jiu Jitsu when it went to Brazil.

There is a difference other then spelling. Jiu Jitsu is another spelling of Jujitsu its a bit of an older spelling. And is more of a modern term for the sport aspect.
Jujutsu on the other hand properly refers to the ancient forms of hand to hand combat of feudal Japan, they weren't sport style but designed for manning and killing.

Only difference is spelling. Jujutsu is the correct term. Not Ju jutsu., However Jiu Jitsu is more of a blanket term used to refer to either traditional Japanese Jujutsu, or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

although now a days every one treats them the same. back in the 60's and 70's we treated them different.
