I saw this video and Chef came to mind.
He like to talk about things that have been removed from the original art. We don't see this in judo anymore.

heres a book from gene lebell with dozens of leg locks & neck cranks from judo.
this stuffs great I had to learn a few old tricks to compete in sambo because I had no sambo training & chokes weren't allowed my sensei brought in his sensei and taught us some leg locks & sweeps and stuff to give us an edge in sambo and it actually worked really well because it was unorthodox to the russians even though they use leg locks they are variations I guess you could say.
I still use a lot of it in bjj because I'm a blue belt and they havnt taught it to me yet but that doesn't stop me from putting them on people

I know we often say judo does not have leg locks. But here is old footage with legs locks being done in judo.

heres a book from gene lebell with dozens of leg locks & neck cranks from judo www.scribd.com/doc/44270206/The-Handbook-of-Judoyeah it's a full martial art and everything's in the kata it's about bunkai & oyo it's in all japanese styles it's up to the practitioners to use it some just view it as a sport though I have a video of judo striking and it's very aikido like and if someone practices judo strikes in the kata say under muay thai or kyokushin rules like they practice their throws & arm locks under their own rules more might be better at it but too many are pure grapple-rs which isn't the art.
