I'm thinking of getting a nose ring with my girlfriend this weekend but alas! I do grappling, and don't know wether this would even be worth it.. Would replacing the ring with a small pin do any good? Or would I have to take it out completely? I'm also planning on getting a Vertical Labret soon.

well it will probably stab the inner nose a little bit and cause a little bit of bleeding. if you really want to get it do it. but while you are keeping it in for beginning period i would suggest stuffing some tissue up there while rolling. then when it is settled and wont close real quick i suggest taking it out while you roll. idk about the vertical labret i could see it causing some bigger problems than the nose piercing i really don't have a remedy for that one

I should've been more clear haha. I meant a ball pin piercing or whatever they're called. I don't know the exact name. My Dad has one. Pretty much there's a small ball pin on the outside, and on the inside it's an L-Bar being used so it doesn't fall out. It's a newer way that's completely easier than putting a little rubber on the point of the piercing inside your nose. Instead, the shape of the piercing (the part inside your nose) is L-shaped so it's secured. So I don't know if the piercing would be able to really stab me hence it being L-Shaped. Nonetheless thank you for the advice! I'm really contemplating on getting it because I hear piercing holes close in as little as an hour.. 2 hours max haha. I wouldn't mind taking them out if only I didn't run the risk of throwing money away.

I honestly wouldn't. Piercings and contact sports, just don't mix in my opinion. I don't know much about them, but aren't you suppost to keep them in for a few months before taking them out? Since sitting out for a few months isn't an option, I'd just say not do it. But you're gonna do what you're gonna do.

in a neck or head constriction move your piercing could be ripped clean off your face trying to escape & it gets caught.
I had an 8 gauge spike earing that almost ripped my ear lobe right off trying to escape a side headlock take down attempt and i tapped from it because I didn't want to be maimed lol
