What are some opinions you have on leg locks? Do you use them often? If so, what are your favorites? Are you a "leg lock guy?"
I myself don't go for them that often, but I still train them so I can defend them. And I've been trying to add more to my game.

Leg locks are great to watch in MMA fights. I don't do them much as I find I'm too slow to get them right but I am a fan though

I personally use them a lot and consider them some of my main moves.
My favourite is the single leg boston crab because I'm in a standing position and I can get great leverage and torque on the knee and hip.
They are hard to use against people with good guard games but if your good at scrambling then you can get them a bit easier IMO.
I also like calf crushers and heel hooks but I don't find I use them as often as I could.
I would suggest if your trying to get better at them to look up Erik Paulson's leg lock series who's a black belt under Rigan Machado & probably one of the true masters of leg locks in the world.

Isn't Erik Paulson also a world renowned Catch wrestler?

I'd say it's due to the way I fight but I've never wound up in a position where a leg-lock seemed the best option. Having said that I like the foot-locks that seem to be very popular in Japanese Pancration.

I like use standing leg locks were you use you legs to lock them up. Although its much easier to slip and mess up there knee. But the do make for great unexpected take downs.
