By training.
The drills and the sparring help train the mind.

By experiencing hard training and slow moments of meditation. I would suggest you to read some books who refer to martial arts as well, in that way you will feel a more integrated part of it.

Training your mind isn't really as simple as it may sound. A trained mind could be anything from knowing when to change your strategy or exposing holes in your opponents methods. Either way it comes with experience over time and when you train for a long time you start to see things that you might not have earlier.

Spar. Be put under the pressure of having live attacks coming your way on a regular basis and your brain will adapt and learn to deal with it.

Learn by doing. A strong mind for fighting doesn't have to be particularly smart, it has to be stubbourn, resiliant, experienced, crafty and wise. Being smart is by no means a disadvantage, smart people see through traps and baitings but smarts involve thinking and thinking is far too slow for the heat of a fight, you need to learn when to use your smarts but you also have to learn when to turn them off.
