Today I'm attending his seminar. I'm going to jot down some notes, and I'll report back to you guys what I learned today.

So we worked on a bit of quarter guard stuff. I managed to embarrass myself a few times in front of Eddie. I'm not very familiar with his system, so he yells at me to "wizard! wizard!" and I have no clue what that is...and so I managed to look like a retard a few times.
We worked on quarter guard, which is essentially your last resort after half guard, where his knee is past your lock. We worked on taking back from quarter guard. I learned quite a bit. If any of you are interested specifically on how to do it, I guess I can offer a mediocre tutorial on here.

For those who don't know the difference, how would you explain the difference between mainstream BJJ and Eddie Bravo's BJJ?

For those who don't know the difference, how would you explain the difference between mainstream BJJ and Eddie Bravo's BJJ? \ The way Eddie explained it is that his style since it lacks a gi, is more catered for MMA. His style is very much based on clinch work, so as to avoid getting hit in the face when you're on the ground. He emphasized that alot when we were working on quarter guard when we were under someone. He told us to get an S-grip with one arm going across their back and the other across their stomach. He told us to get as low and as close as possible. Other styles of BJJ aren't so much focused on the MMA aspect because they either think it works automatically or because they just don't care for MMA. He explained thats why you have guys like Palhares that are amazing at leg locks, and he goes out there and he gets knocked the fuck out trying to go for leg locks.

For those who don't know the difference, how would you explain the difference between mainstream BJJ and Eddie Bravo's BJJ? like bjj but more wrestling oriented because bravo was a wrestler before he became a jiujitero. i like how he re-made certain wresling moves back to submissions that were nerfed for safety reasons like his "twister" is what we call a "guillotine" but because neck cranks were made illegal in 1925 its been a tilt for control. after all eddys shit talk and disrespect towards wrestling he wouldnt even accept my neck crank challenge to prove hes not a shit talker lol

When Eddie said wizard, I'm pretty sure he meant whizzer, an over hook that you clinch onto haha Personally I wouldn't attend an Eddie seminar. I've rolled with a lot of 10th planet guys and I've never been impressed. He has a couple cool subs that I learned from vids, but I don't need a seminar to learn to put my shin on the side of someone else's and pull their toes up like a toe hold.. lol. if I attended one of his classes it would be to try and get renato laranja to troll me and hear him say "gward" lol!
