The only gym in my city that isn't planet fitness is one that caters to people who are building a bodybuilding career. I'm a kickboxer and I want to fight professionally one day, i'm only 17 so I have quite a while. I'm 6ft3 and 165 pounds, trying to get a good strength trainer and I feel that learning from body builders could benefit me, but I don't wanna gain a lot of muscle mass, just the strength. Do you thing that this is a bad idea?

If you don't want to gain a lot of muscle then it isn't really bodybuilding. Nothing wrong with weight training for a fighter IF you do it correctly. You should start off with a trainer, ESPECIALLY if you are new to lifting, and let them know that you want to work on explosive strength and not add a bunch of muscle. A trainer will be able to help you build your program around that and you won't hurt your training at all so long as you are lifting the right way (NO slow lifts if you're trying to build speed!)
