it's called a crossface neck crank from back mount where from a failed rear naked choke/mata leo/hadaka jime you instead pull your elbow across their face and sue it to gain leverage to crank their neck.
I like to try 2 or 3 at a time if possible so if one fails I still have another 1 or 2 to pull of they aren't aware of.

the one that works. i don't have a favorite really. but i would pick a rear naked in my opinion it shows complete control you did enough to get back mount you did enough to sink it in. and when someone is out cold you can do whatever you want. also it gives an opportunity for a neck crank like chef said if the rear naked fails

I'm always catching people in Sankaku Jime (triangle choke) but my favorite, the one i feel most accomplished when i get, would be the Kata ha Jime (chicken wing variation of rear the naked choke). I personally like chokes better than jojnt locks because of the control and ability to finish a fight, but I'm not opposed to joint locks. my Judo experience just screams "strangle him!" to me when I'm grappling.

@ The Last Airbender the only thing i have against chokes , and this is because i mostly like stand up fighting however i did train in BJJ for a couple months , the reason is someone can still hit you when your chokeing them , then can still move , if you do a joint lock most of the time they wont be punching you or trying to pick you up , they will try to grab there arm , or anything that is a joint lock

Standing armbar to sitting shoulder crank. I love it when that works out because I rarely manage it.

I don't know if I have a favorite anymore......Peruvian Neck Tie or No arm Guillotine are both pretty wicked.

A properly applied choke ought to put most people out in about 4 or 5 seconds. They'll feel the blood not going to their head, the tingling sensation we all know and love that comes with being strangled, and start to see black dots in about 3 seconds. If they ignore that. well they're stupid. lol. but assuming they do, they can't really hit you at all when in a Kata ha Jime and they're whole body is immobilized so there's no moving either.

Well, my favorite submission is my favorite move to do set up in a combinations of attempts. First I get a half assed triangle and try doing an Americana to their inside arm against my thigh, then I close for a full triangle, then an Armbar, get a pendulum sweep and complete the actual Armbar. The Armbar I get from the triangle is more of a distraction, it's way higher percentage when their back is on the ground, also when most try escaping from their backs they land right into an omoplata.

how does one strike from a mounted triangle choke? or a side triangle choke? even the regular triangle, one can't really strike from because one arm is trapped while the other is behind the chokers leg so it's not able to reach anywhere other than the asscheek to punch. not to insult your grappling knowledge, but if you spend a lot of time in and performing this choke you'd see that you can't strike at all. as for movement, the only real option for moving while inside the triangle (assuming one doesn't know how to properly escape) is to try to powerbomb the guy which any decent grappler will seize the opportunity to underhook a leg, break balance, and roll right into a mounted triangle.
