I heard lots of people have been adding it to their bjj repertoire too because after spending so much time between another mans legs with his nuts tightly squeezegd against you it's only inevitable lol
oil check - bjj version
butt drag - wrestling version

You've already had balls in your face, how much lower can you really sink?

Are the neck and face cranks traditional submissions or recent ones?

@frasier- nothing's really recent. it's more what's allowed recently in competitions. people have been cranking necks for centuries. Judo (whether you consider it modern or traditional) has many neck cranks, as does Japanese Jujutsu and Aikijustu. i can't speak on Karate but i'm sure they do too.

I do a lot of variations off of the D'Arce choke, one of my favorites is kata hajime, I have a rolling version of that one that is pure evil, and another evil turn over using Gyaku Jujime.
I also use Half Crucifix a good bit.
Hard to pick a favorite, most of mine are part of series or combinations that flow into others, or pain inducing meant to set up other techniques.
I tap more people with my Kesa Katame then nearly anything else though (head and arm pin), I use it as a suffocation choke to prevent their ribcage from being able to open up enough for someone to breathe adequately, it isn't super fast, but I have had a lot of success with it, even at NAGA, for me it was just how I was taught Kesa, to tighten up and cinch in everytime someone exhales...

my all time favorite has to be the the British Strangle, made famous by Neil Adams. it's a rolling Okuri Eri Jime and it's fantastic after you stuff a shot or after they've failed a drop Seoi Nage.

I like the standing neck twist from a feinted jab because it catches most people off guard because they just think it's a missed jab lol

What is the Judo name for the cross collar choke?

What is the Judo name for the cross collar choke? Technically there's three 'types' of cross collar chokes depending on which way your palms are facing and they're all named a little differently. Nami Juji Jime = both palms 'down' (probably the one you're thinking of) Gyaku Juji Jime = both palms 'up' and Kata Juji Jime = one palm facing 'up' and one facing 'down'
