odee- thats a good way to think about I've always thought of it like that too but like pushing & crashing where the first hits then pushes the other person back while the latter hurts them. the difference is like a pushing & a snapping punch too you can knock someone down with a pushing punch to the head but a snapping punch is what rocks their brain because your moving so fast they don't just get knocked back they get shoved back faster than their body can fall and they end up hurt. @jw- good points too but I don't like pain or intimidation techniques but they do have their place it would be single minded of me to think otherwise.

I love pain techniques although this is not the best example of what I call a pain technique. Pain brings compliance. In order to use these techniques you must also learn to endure having them applied to you also. This is the reason i have said for years that you have to be a little crazy or off to train in martial arts. Who in their right minds will put themselves through the type of punishment and pain on purpose and often find enjoyment in doing so.
Just think about when someone get a good strike in or a good joint lock or a choke that cause you to gasp. They sometime will apologize for doing so. But o me there is no need to apologize. I signed up for this. That is a good technique. If it is good and didn't injure I like it.

Land a teep on someone's solar plexus and you can do what you want with them. I'd be curious if there have been any cases of people not recovering or recovering poorly from a winding like that.

That's kind of sick. Is there some reason your girlfriend let you teep kick inside her?

I know, but I wasn't going to let you get away without an embarrasing image to think about for a good long time.
