I love animals. Animals don't judge, and despite the fact that every animal I've ever owned enjoys stealing my food, they've always been fantastic companions. My best friend for 16 years has been my dog, Lucky (I didn't choose the name). He's a border collie, and if you've ever kept one of those bastards you'll know that they require lots of attention and even more exercise. He's a good dog though, and he's also extremely intelligent (I've trained him to use the human toilet. He even flushes afterward). Now, I've also got a cat, Kuro. He's a grumpy little asshole, and spends most of his time trying to kill moths. He gets on well with Lucky though.
Anyway, enough about my guys, how about yours? Which animals have you kept in your time, and which of your animals did you have the most affection for?

I was raised with a dog, a Lhasa Apso, so most of my adult life I preferred dogs. About 5 years ago I took care of a friends cat, while he was on vacation. I was living alone at the time, and the cat was good company, he would sit and sleep on my arm while I watched TV. Since I work all day he was bored at home, got him a girlfriend last year. Now I have 2 cats, but I like all animals

Animals are plenty judgmental, most just spare you the verdict. I used to own a cat and he judged me every time I moved, you could see the wheels turning when he watched you. If your animals stole your food they most likely judged you as easy pickings. I'm a dog person but I've also almost always had some kind of oddball pet as well, frogs, lizards, fish, ferrets, rabbits and birds. For a while I owned a pet Australian kestrel that I was trying to teach hawking to, never got further than teaching him to come on command before a local wildlife sanctuary talked me out of him for a breeding and demonstration program. I bet he's happier as a stud anyway. Currently I just have three sheepdogs, two Shetland sheepdogs and a Border collie.

I prefer animals over people any day. And cat's are judgmental fucks!
Anyways, I got a Labrador retriever, named Madison. Great big ball of energy. We have an asshole cat named Elvis. And I have a ball python named Naga. He's a timid little shit afraid of his own shadow. I've owned quite a few snakes. I once caught a bullsnake, that laid eggs the next day.

Just rabbits . We had a poodle but we had to give it away because my little brother was born. We're getting a new dog a Rottweiller crosses with a labrador. Cats bite me if i don't stroke it right and dogs are bastards when the are young they're only decent when they're older and they understand everything and aren't fucking everywhere up.

I forgot to mention, from age 7-15 I was fascinated by invertebrates. I used to trap all kinds of insects and make them fight, until I was about 10 I realized that was a cruel thing to do, so I built a terrarium and I would just keep them as pets, no more UIF (ultimate insect fighting). xD I owned quite a bit of tarantulas and scorpions. I used to walk around with tarantulas on my shoulder on purpose when my mother had guests to freak them out. My fascination faded in my late teens until it vanished. Nowadays If a little critter manages to survive my 2 cats (rarely happens, they like to hunt) I just trapped them and release them outside, I live next to a park so they have plenty of room to survive.

Hey Frank, wanna see something interesting? Your fellow bug fighters inspired Pokemon.
Forget the bug's feelings, what about the mind raped children!?

You are right, it did probably inspired Pokemon :-o but I'm sure I was not the only kid who had the idea to pit different invertebrates against each other. Does Pokemon still exist? I thought they stopped making that cartoon like 10 years ago. On a separate subject, cartoons nowadays are lame.....

No, people just stopped watching pokemon, it didn't go away.
Depends on the cartoon. 2003 Ninja Turtles was pretty epic, I enjoyed Spectacular Spiderman and Thundercats.
Tell me that doesn't rock. Other than that you're completely right.

Wife and I have a Shih Tzu. I never liked small dogs, and then we got this one for her birthday and I love it to death. Grew up with a few other dogs as well, but I never really bonded with them.

I have owned dogs, cats, birds, frogs, freshwater and saltwater fish. Currently I have rare breed dogs the Presa Canarios that I show and breed. I have an Australian Cattle Dog that I rescued from a shelter. I also have Jack Dempsey for y fish. I tend to like fish that are predators. I like large breed dogs that protect. I got the ACD for my wife since she said she wanted a lap dog. But she said he's too big for a lap dog. I do personal protection training with him. He's small for my taste, but he has a lot of fight in him and never tires of working.

jwbulldogs Is the dog on your profile one of your Presas? If so, that's certainly a gorgeous dog. I've heard that they're quite dominant, but I guess that's typical of most molosser breeds.

I'm an animal lover, not a people lover. I like all animals. I'd keep a dog, but my wife and I work all day, and I can't keep it in the house the whole time, I don't think it's fair. But I have 4 cats who rule the roost, and 4 fish tanks full of oscars, goldfish, danios, gouramis, and pleckos. I used to keep mini puffers, but they kept dying.
