LOL.
Yes you have to be careful where you put one of those. You have to have a strong foundation or build up the floor underneath if you go bigger than 250 gallons. A good place is a basement. But that might not change if you will be eating sushi.
That reminds me of a few years ago I was visiting Idaho. It was a rural area. I met this older gentleman. Somehow he ended up with the one cow. It originally belong to someone else but somehow he ended up caring for it and it became his. He had plenty of acres for the cow to graze. He told us how he went outside daily and rubbed and petted this cow and naming him porterhouse. The next day he might call hen T-Bone. One day his wife heard him and got upset saying don't call her that. He explained that is what she is to me. It is going to be a porterhouse, t-bone, rib eyes and ground chuck. She was looking at the cow as a pet He saw the cow as dinner. Well, before I left the guy gave us a call and told us to go by the butcher they was a huge load of meat that would could get. Let me tell you Porterhouse was very tasty. It was raised organically. There were no steroids or corn fillers added to her diet. His wife wondered where was the cow. It was on the table...lol

Pass on that. I bet that thing eats more than all the pets I've ever owned combined.

Okay folks, Hurricane Sandy left me without power for a week. I had a generator that kept my refrigerator going, and then only for a few hours at a time. Also, I had almost no fuel to power it, so I had to be judicious in using it. As a result, I had to sacrifice my fish.
But not without fighting: They all became listless, so, I went out to the garage and retrieved some buckets and cleaned them out. I filled them with water and put my oscar in one, and my goldfish in another. I left my plecos alone, I believe they are in paradise now, stewing in filthy water.
I'll let you know if they survive the ordeal, but I'm curious: how long should I leave them in the pails (note: there is no filtration or air bubbles). My tanks are now powered up and I've already done a 50% water change (which seems superfluous, since the fish are surviving in pure tap water for a day and a half now). I've lost all of my neon tetras, but they are the only casualty.
Oh... and my danio/plecko remained in their tank. I didn't put the danio in a pail because he didn't seem listless as the others. So I left him, and now the tanks are powered up and the filtration and air pumps are working. but I did do a 30% change.
What do you think?

Well, my oscar died. The goldfish are fine, as are all the plecos and the danio. They're all in their tanks. RIP, oscar...

Having a bear for a pet would be cool, but I don't think I could afford to feed him.
Sorry to hear about the Oscar. It can't survive in a small confined space for too long. He might have survived the tank. They can be pretty hardy, but they need space.

I can tell you from personal experience that bears are very expensive and high maintenance - domesticated or not. First, there's the engagement ring, then the wedding ring, then the wedding. Oh, and the in-laws. And the hair salons. And the nail salons. And the clothing stores. And the shoes. Then boys night out either includes an unwanted tag-along, or you kiss them good-bye. Same with Friday night poker. Same with Saturday night pool. Same with Sunday morning at Johnny's Tavern. Same with Monday night football.

Polar. She toys with her prey before she eats it...

With a name like Possum I'm surprised your bear hasn't eaten you yet. ...unless you're one of those American possums, those things look like they'd fight all the way down your throat.
